1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using Writence’s products or websites (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms. If you’re using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
2. The Service
Writence provides writing software, including the products Diglot and Copyeditor. We may update, add, or remove features over time.
3. Accounts
You’re responsible for your account credentials and for activity under your account. Keep your password secure and notify us of any unauthorized use.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service, including by:
- Breaking the law or infringing others’ rights.
- Attempting to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to our systems.
- Using the Service to harass, deceive, or harm others.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of the content you create. You grant us the limited rights needed to operate the Service for you (such as storing and processing your documents). We don’t use your writing to train AI models.
6. AI features and authorship records
Some features use AI to generate suggestions, which you review and accept or reject. If you opt in, the editor can produce an Authorship Certificate documenting your writing process. The certificate documents process; it is not a legal verdict and is not a guarantee against any detection product.
7. Plans and payment
Paid plans are billed through our payment processors on the cadence shown at checkout. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or stated otherwise.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including our software, design, and trademarks, belongs to Writence or our licensors. These Terms don’t grant you rights to our brand assets except as described in our brand guidelines.
9. Third-party services
The Service may integrate with third-party tools. Your use of those tools is governed by their terms, not ours.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is.” To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties not expressly stated here. We don’t warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Writence is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited as described here or in your order.
12. Termination
You can stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms or to protect the Service.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email, and continued use means you accept the updated Terms.
